Care for what you love.
Learn to wash and care for your products to add years onto their lifetime
WASH.
Cashmere is extremely delicate and so shouldn’t be put in the washing machine. We recommend hand washing your cashmere using baby shampoo, it works like a charm.
Use Lukewarm water gently swirl your sweater, and let it soak for up to 30 minutes. To dry, the trick is to layout your sweater on a bath towel and gently roll the sweater in the towel, absorbing all the water in a cashmere sushi roll.
PILLING.
Pilling is a natural occurrence in cashmere and is usually caused by friction. A seat belt, purse strap, or even the synthetic lining of a jacket can all contribute.
Cashmere sweater pills only a small number of times (think of it like shedding a layer of skin). We advise using a cashmere comb, provided with all mali studios cashmere to deal with any of these bobbles.
To do so, simply lay the cashmere flat and gently pass the cashmere comb over the fibres which in turn will pick up the pills.
Remember, longer fibres = stronger cashmere.
FOLD.
Hanging cashmere can stretch out the shoulders of your cashmere product so it is best to fold your sweater and keep it in a drawer.

STORE BETWEEN SEASONS.
During the summer months when you are unlikely to wear your cashmere garment, it is best to put cashmere in an airtight container. For an added bit of protection, try adding cedar chips to ward off any moths and prevent mustiness.
